Nobody likes their business phone system.  What if it were reinvented as a modern smart device that made it easy to manage all your communications?

Conceptual sketches

I began with very rough wireframes in Axure to spec out the basic functionality of the product.  But it soon became clear that the resulting UI was messy and I switched to hand drawings to help work out the rhythm of the interface.

Touch Interface Design

Returning to Axure, I created a high-fidelity prototype that demonstrated the core functionality of the product, a combination of business VOIP and an automated CRM system.  Since we were targeting the Android environment, I adapted many of Google’s design standards.

Product Design

The physical product needed to be dramatically different from the cheap plastic IP phones in most offices today.  Working with an industrial designer, I sketched out my concept for a simple stand based on a torque hinge that was easily adjustable, sturdy, and also wall-mountable.  The result was a working physical prototype produced on a 3D printer.
